South Shore Garden - Makena Image © Alison Whalen There are so many gorgeous gardens in Makena. Our favorite one has a small pond, and the yard is always busy with birds and butterflies. So many flowers, so many different scents and colors, so serene and peaceful. It's located across the road from Keawala'i Congregational Church, and we like to hike here on Sunday mornings, because I love listening to the choir. Their voices drift out through the open windows and the breezes carry their songs out over the ocean.
