Waterfall at Sunset - Nahiku, Maui

Image © Alison Whalen		 Along the Hana Highway is a turnoff for Nahiku that meanders for several miles through a rainforest and a tiny community. The road ends at a spectacular ocean view overlook, and if you follow the path to the left, you'll come upon a waterfall that spills into a pool right beside the ocean.

In winter and spring when the rains are heavy here, the moisture collected on the foliage reflects and exaggerates the colors of a sunset. If you want to see hues and color combinations you've previously just imagined, Nahiku is where you'll find them.
